The 6th edition of the European cluster conference took place during 14-16 May 2019 in the palace of Parliament in Bucharest. The conference was organised by the European Commission's Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs in cooperation with the Romanian Ministry of Economy. With its theme “Connecting ecosystems: Bridge. Inspire. Change”, the conference gathered 450 national and regional cluster policy-makers and practitioners from industry, research and academia.

The European Cluster Collaboration Platform is glad to announce significant advancement on an ambitious European-funded initiative. Indeed, Low Carbon Action Brazil (existing also in Mexico) aims at engaging small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) from the EU Member States and from Brazil in their transition to low carbon technologies and resource efficient processes, notably by the exchange of innovative experiences.

From events for cheese and spice sommeliers in Kulmbach and Veitshöchheim to a seminar on bonding plastics in Lüdenscheid to the1st East Brandenburg concrete round table in Rüdersdorf - the second Cluster Week showed once again: Germany's clusters are creative, diverse and innovative. From 2 to 11 April 2019, cluster initiatives from all 16 German states took part in Cluster Week Germany with almost 200 events and trade fair participations, and also carried out many activities with international partners such as Sweden, Israel, Canada, Portugal, the Netherlands, France and Great Britain.

During the mission that was organised together with Basque Trade & Investment, the participants were able to gain knowledge on the reality and have a perspective of the US offshore wind power thanks to the meetings held with the key actors in the US ,such as Avangrid or US Wind promoters, who are responsible for the two first wind farms that will start operating.

The Basque Energy Cluster held an exploratory mission on the week from 4 to 8 March following the new Colombian Government's commitment to an energy mix that includes more renewable sources and the revamp of an obsolete electric network in some areas of the country. The goal of the mission was to get to know the policies of the new government and the direction taken by the companies of a greater relevance in the Andean country.
