During a meeting at the Gdańsk Business Club on 17th November this year Paweł Brzezicki – Administrative Commissioner of Polish Steamship Company announced plans to establish the Maritime Investment Fund. The Fund will be based on the Danish model, where years ago a fund was established by shipowners, shipyards, insurance companies and the National Bank of Denmark. The nature of the Fund will be commercial and it will be subject to supervision by the Financial Supervision Authority. It will be able to issue bonds and mortgage bonds, among others. Waldemar Stawski from the Polish Steamship Company has explained how financial means are obtained to create the Fund.
