Description

Ambitious climate policy can be a driver of economic growth and create important opportunities for European businesses.

But fulfilling the promise of a green growth strategy requires more than continuously raising climate targets that lead to higher CO2 and compliance costs for many European companies. This online panel debate on 14 December, organised by EUROCHAMBRES and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ) aims to discuss the framework conditions companies need, in light of increased targets, to contribute to the fight against climate change while remaining or becoming global industrial leaders. The panellists will be:

  • Jutta Paulus, Member of the European Parliament (Greens/EFA)
  • Heiko Kunst, Deputy Head of Unit ETS Implementation and IT, DG CLIMA
  • Joseph Kitzweger, Director Sustainable Development, Lafarge Zementwerke GmbH
  • Vladimir Dlouhy, President Czech Chamber of Commerce, Deputy President of EUROCHAMBRES & Chair of Sustainable Europe Committee
  • Stephan Schwarzer, Head of Energy and Environment Department, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKÖ)
