Description

After three successful conferences, Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum and its partner KIC InnoEnergy Germany are pleased to announce this year’s International Women4Energy Conference.

The topic of this year’s conference will be “Towards a low-carbon economy” with a special focus on the implications and conclusions of the Paris Agreement. At the climate conference in December 2015, 195 countries adopted the first-ever universal, legally binding global climate deal. In order to achieve the intended objectives all main sectors responsible for Europe's emissions need to contribute – power generation, industry, transport, buildings, and agriculture.

In this one-day conference, the consequences of the agreement, the solution approaches that already exist and trends for a low-carbon economy in the future will be examined.

The conference reaches out to all female professionals active in energy related innovation to:

  • create new business ideas and technology solutions for the energy market,
  • generate and discuss new business models to get solutions to market,
  • encourage innovative business creation, and to
  • enhance market entry for innovative energy technologies, processes and services.

The International Women4Energy Conference encourages female entrepreneurs, women from energy related industry, women in science from research institutions and universities, post doctoral fellows, PhD students, graduate students and master students to submit an abstract with their research results and technology solutions as well as business ideas in the field of decarbonisation of the economy in one of the following sectors:

  • Mobility/Transport
  • Buildings
  • Agriculture
  • Power generation & distribution
  • Industry

Participants are invited to send their abstracts and a short CV until 30th September 2016 to eckerlin [at] steinbeis-europa.de using the Word template (maximum of 2 pages in English) and apply for the Call for Papers. They can present the papers in one of the parallel sessions in the afternoon. During the day, there will be many opportunities for networking and exchange. The conference language is English. The conference programme will be published on the project website very soon.
