Description of measure

The Swedish Government launched the initiative in 2018. The major objectives are to be a coordinating force for Sweden’s transition to a circular economy and to facilitate the creation of an innovative, competitive and sustainable business community at national and regional level. The Delegation has initiated two pilot networks for a number regions and municipalities, where stake-holders can exchange best practices and establish new collaborations. The pilots will be evaluated in 2022 and if may be extended to include all regions and municipalities in Sweden. The Delegation has also appointed Circular Expert Groups in various fields, for example design, circular production, bioeconomy etc. The groups support the Delegation by presenting concrete actions to further accelerate the transition from a linear to a circular economy, for example economic or regulatory instruments or other measures.
