REC-N-COMP - Recap of the mission to Singapore
The REC-N-COMP mission to Singapore has taken place from the 18th to the 22nd of September, days coinciding with the launching of the 2023 Singapore Design Week. The delegation was formed by the 5 project partners, NTT, Cluster Arredo, Techtera, Flanders Make, PGM, together with 13 SMEs coming from Italy, France, Belgium and Poland working in the furniture, textile and automotive sectors and with strong interests and knowledge in composite and sustainable materials.
During the first days of the mission the delegation participated in the European Open Workshop organised together with Bonucchi & Ass. at the National Design Centre. An occasion for partners and companies to introduce themselves to local stakeholders. In the following days the delegation took part to several activities. Starting on the 20th with the meeting with EuroCham, European Chamber of Commerce Singapore at the European Union Delegation to Singapore greeted by the EU Ambassador Iwona Piórko. The meeting was followed by a visit to the company ChopValue Singapore, that recycles bamboo chopsticks to create panels. The delegation then attended the opening of the Singapore Design Week and on the 21st visited FIND - Design Fair Asia at Marina Bay.
On the 22nd two visits were organised: the first one to EWTCOI Environmental & Water Technology Centre Of Innovation and its laboratories, the second one to A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research together with Nextevo, company that recycle pineapple leaves to create new textile possibilities. The mission has come to an end with the aim of now starting the follow up to implement what has been developed during the week abroad.
