MAGNETON

MAGNETON is programme under the technological infrastructure division of Israel Innovation Authority, an independent publicly funded agency. The main objective of this programme is the validation of laboratory results and transfer of the technology from research institutions to industrial corporations for the development of breakthrough products. The main activities are: the commercialisation of academic knowledge developed through scientific research and the examination of applicability potential of technologies developed in academic institutions. The main beneficiaries are Israeli industrial companies seeking to incorporate new technologies developed in the academia and Academic research groups from research institutes and institutes seeking to carry out innovative and original applied research in collaboration with an Israeli company. Beneficiaries get an applied research grant of up to 66% of the approved budget, for a period of up to 24 months. The main success factors are that these collaborations expose industrial companies to the research achievements relevant to their activities and assist research groups in transforming academic developments into commercial applications.
