Description

The HempClub project, funded by the COSME Programme, brings together 7 clusters and associations operating in the bioeconomy, advanced manufacturing, and hemp production sectors to create interconnected and interregional supply chains between operators in primary production, agri-food processing, and green chemistry in the hemp sector.

HempClub implements the ClusterXchange pilot scheme which aims to support short-term exchanges between two different COSME countries to better connect Europe’s industrial ecosystems. It facilitates transnational cooperation, peer learning, networking, and innovation uptake between actors of different industrial clusters.

Exchange Objectives

  • Provide a hands-on approach to understanding the Innovative Technology Showcase defining Industry 4.0: Robotics, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Additive Manufacturing (AM).
  • Engaging with industry leaders, visionaries, and technology experts sharing insights on the implementation, challenges, and success of Industry 4.0, focusing on how these technologies are revolutionizing manufacturing processes, optimizing efficiency, and fostering sustainable practices.
  • Creating a collaborative network to improve growth between bioeconomy SME sectors.
  • Share knowledge and experiences to expand your professional network, forge partnerships, and exchange ideas.
  • Individuate potential collaboration and commercial opportunities in Industry 4.0 among the Host Organization (and its cluster associates) and Visiting organizations.

The exchange will be hosted by LEITAT, a private research center with more than 110 years of experience in industrial innovation processes that aims to transform technological and scientific results into economic and competitive value for its clients and collaborating entities. LEITAT brings knowledge and innovation to its customers through applied research and technical testing in the fields of chemistry, energy, environment, materials, engineering, and life sciences, relying upon their highly skilled team members who deliver flexible solutions to face any industrial challenge.

LEITAT improves the competitiveness of companies in the DFactory ecosystem by providing knowledge and technology for the transition to a digital and sustainable industry. DFactory Barcelona was launched as a node focused on creating an ecosystem that promotes the development of Industry 4.0, acting as a tool for the transformation of the Spanish productive fabric and guides companies through the digitisation process.

Who can participate?

Participants of a transnational exchange can be representatives of cluster organisations and similar business network organisations, scaling-up support organisations (such as tech centres, research institutes, (digital) innovation hubs, fab labs, creative hubs, resource-efficiency service providers, incubators, accelerators) and SMEs that are cluster members from countries participating in the COSME programme.

Since the exchange takes place in Spain, Spanish organizations are not entitled to receive a reimbursement due to the European exchange rules.

Visiting organizations can participate only once in the CXC mobility scheme.
