Funding for local heating measures based on renewable energy sources is available to all companies and other entrepreneurial organisations. In addition, associations and confessional/religious institutions may also submit proposals.

Funded projects include: biomass local heating plants, new construction and expansion of heat distribution networks based on biomass, geothermal energy or industrial waste heat (Note: the compression of heat distribution networks based on biomass, geothermal energy or industrial waste heat can be applied for here), optimisation of local heating plants, renewal of boilers in existing biomass local heating plants, biomass combined heat and power, and geothermal local heating plants. In addition to the plant, planning and installation are also recognised as eligible costs.
