HAMMER

PIMAP4Sustainability is happy to present the innovation project HAMMER, issued from the collaboration between VALLAND SPA, Italy and f3nice AS, Norway
HAMMER aims to implement 3D printing techniques using recycled metal powder to manufacture a customized control valve cage for hydrogen applications, addressing the damage incurred during usage. The project seeks to assess the technical, economic, supply chain, and sustainability benefits of this approach compared to traditional methods, with the goal of potentially integrating the technology into industrial processes. The project involves phases such as 3D laser scanning of the damaged component for accurate dimensions, engineering a 3D-printed demonstrator, actual component printing, validation, control valve testing, and digitalization along with a Life Cycle Assessment analysis. The focus is on enhancing the production of customized products by leveraging recycled materials, offering advantages in speed, flexibility, and technical quality.
