Description of measure

The COMET programme is a central funding programme of the Austrian technology politics. COMET is managed by the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT) and the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs (BMDW). Estimated budget expenditure range between EUR 20M and 50M per year since the launch of the programme in 2006. It aims to strengthen research cooperation between science and industry, including clusters. It focuses on supporting research activities which operate at the cutting-edge and a high international profile. COMET is an internationally recognised best-practice model and belongs to Austria’s most successful technology policy initiatives.
