The Budapest Mission of REMOBILISE is coming!

Zone Cluster was established by leading Hungarian infocommunication technology, electronics, UTM aviation, and automotive companies, with the goal of institutionally connecting research, development and innovation capacities in the field of intelligent transport systems. The activity of the cluster is focused on Hungary, but involves regional (Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia) countries and European Union countries as well.

The third and final mission of REMOBILISE will take place between 15th and 17th of November, 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.

This time, we are inviting SMEs and start-ups to explore the local ecosystem, build relationships and learn from each other. The mission will include high-level interventions, pitching sessions, networking, site visits and a training session, all built around the governing topic of Electromobility and related advancements in the area.

Day 1

  • 9:30: Welcome by ZONE, REMOBILISE introduction
  • 10:00: Keynote speech: Hungarian e-mobility landscape – tbc
  • 10:15: Status of Hungarian battery production and future strategy – Péter Kaderják, Head of the Hungarian Battery Alliance
  • 11:00-11:20: Coffee Break
  • 11:20: Discovering the local ecosystem – Urban Mobility: Volán (tbc), Zoltán Sipos CEO – Electrobus, Szabolcs Balogh CEO – MVM Mobiliti, Czikora Tamás Head of Mobility – MOL Group
  • 12:30: Lunch break
  • 14:00: EIT Urban Mobility session: Traian Urban (Innovation Hub East) – tbc, RIS Hub Hungary
  • 14:30: Discovering the local ecosystem – Urban Air Mobility:  4iG, HungaroControl, tbc
  • 15:30: Coffee break
  • 15:50: Scaling up support organizations roundtable discussion – tbc
  • 16:50: Open networking
  • 18:30: Networking dinner

Day 2

  • 9:00: Site visit to Samsung SDI Hungary near Budapest – tbc
    • Based on two pillars of green energy and cutting-edge materials, Samsung SDI manufactures and distributes rechargeable batteries used for electric vehicle, IT, Energy Storage System (ESS), as well as materials for semiconductors and displays. Their factory at Göd, near Budapest, manufactures batteries for electric vehicles since 2018 and it is the fourth largest such facility in Europe.
  • 12:00: Lunch break
  • 14:00: Visit to a Research Centre: Bosch Hungary Innovation Campus site visit – tbc
    • The Budapest Innovation Campus is an important location for Bosch’s global developments. It is Bosch’s one of the largest development centers in Europe in terms of staff numbers, with around 3,000 experts. The Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus is home to 14,000 square meters of instrumented research and test laboratories, a special outdoor test track and a high-tech giant test hall. The new Bosch Budapest Innovation Campus plays a key role in the development of electromobility and automated driving solutions of the Bosch Group.

Day 3

  • 9:30: Training session on available EU funding opportunities for startups and SMEs, with a special focus on Horizon Europe
  • 12:30: Lunch
  • 13:30: End of programme
