Dry answer to a wet problem

  • Brewery adopts semi-dry conveyor lubrication system in its bottling plant
  • Saving millions of litres of water and making the working environment safer for workers

A craft brewery had a problem with the amount of water needed to lubricate its bottling conveyors and the danger to employees of spills and wet floors.

For the bottling hall, the goal was to dramatically reduce water consumption, particularly in the filling area. The challenge they faced was not only to save water but also to maintain and even improve hygiene conditions and production efficiency.

The solution they implemented was DryExx™ GF, a highly effective, semi-dry lubricant which eliminates the majority of water needed by conveyor systems while maintaining hygiene and efficiency levels. The bottling hall floor is also now drier, reducing the potential for slips and falls in the workplace.

Key results

  • Conveyor lube water savings 80 %
  • Reduced water consumption by 8.7 million litres each year
  • Significantly cleaner belts
  • Over 35 % CO2 reduction
  • Drier floors for worker safety
