Anders Brolin from Stora Enso has been elected as Paper Province’s new chairman of the board after the resigning Ola Brundin, AFRY. The announcement was made at Paper Province's Annual General Meeting on May 21.

Anders Brolin is Director, Group Innovation and R&D at Stora Enso with focus on research relations in Sweden.

"I am excited to see how the board, Sandra Sundbäck as CEO, and all employees will continue to develop Paper Province's role and offering in the circular, forest-based bioeconomy. Our mutual efforts made in the future must be effective and benefit the cluster and the region." Anders Brolin says.

Previous board member

Anders Brolin has been a member of the board before; he was an active member between 2005 and 2016.

“I look forward to getting an updated picture of Paper Province. I have a strategic mind and a lot of contacts that are relevant to the upcoming strategy process", he says.

Extensive experience to strengthen the cluster

Anders Brolin also has extensive experience from the pulp and paper industry.

"I have been head of research in packaging at Stora Enso and have worked a lot with research and innovation issues, incubation and intellectual property issues", he says.

Anders Brolin believes that the big challenge and opportunity in the future for both Paper Province and the forest industry nationally and internationally is to position itself further.

"The forest is key in the transition to the circular bioeconomy, but it is not always perceived as such. Everyone in this industry must work to make that view clearer", says Anders.

Other announcements

In addition to Anders Brolin, Martin Lundqvist from Cellcomb was also elected as a new member of the Board.

"I would like to thank our previous Chairman of the Board Ola Brundin for a very good collaboration during my first time as CEO of Paper Province. I look forward to working with the board under the leadership of Anders Brolin and aim for the future", says Sandra Sundbäck, CEO Paper Province.
