Funded by the COSME programme of the European Union, the HempClub project works to unlock the potential of hemp by creating EU value chains for biobased applications and new business opportunities for primary producers and chemical companies.

Industrial hemp or Canabis Sativa L. is a renewable organic raw material capable of replacing fossil resources in many sectors and industries, playing a crucial role in achieving the carbon neutrality objectives of the Green Deal strategy. The creation of value chains based on the industrial symbiosis between the agricultural and chemical-industrial sectors is an indispensable step to ensure the full exploitation of sustainable biomasses, such as hemp, for the effective realization of the green transformation of the EU production system.

Recognizing the need to connect the actors of the value chain, the HempClub project aims to create a platform dedicated to hemp organizations, that could foster successful matches and collaborations between the operators of the hemp-based value chain. Indeed, HempClub project proposes a special interactive interface map dedicated to EU hemp organizations operating at different steps of the value chain, acting as a point of reference for companies and other organizations that are searching for a partner or collaborations in the sector, including members-clusters relationship.

The map includes: primary producers and farmers, producers of intermediates or final products, R&D organizations, consulting services, distribution & retail, clusters/associations and many more (such as policy makers and organizations with educational purposes).

The map also covers the following sectors: cosmetic, pharmaceutical and CBD products, food and feed, recreational, fibers and textile, construction, hemp farming, machinery and research institute.
