Aerospace Valley, Corallia, Aviation Valley and Corporacion Tecnologica Andalucia are honoured to launch the new Eurocluster project, METASTARS. This 30-month project funded by the European Commission under the Single Market Programme, and coordinated by Aerospace Valley, stands for “METAcluster Support Towards a more resilient AeRospace and defence ecosystem” and aims at supporting SMEs of the European Aerospace & Defence (ASD) ecosystem to reinforce their resilience to potential future shocks. The project will offer SMEs financial support to develop innovative projects and to benefit from services to adapt to new technologies, to develop or strengthen their green and digital transition, their innovation potential, their internationalisation strategy towards Japan and Canada, and the upskilling of their work force.
With the support of the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership, this project will extend its network and impact through all European countries.
As emphasised by the Delegate Director for Innovation in Aerospace Valley, Eric GOUARDES, “the ASD ecosystem is facing multiple crises, the whole sector is changing and rushing to adapt. As clusters, our duty is to support the supply chain with their green and digital transition to be more competitive and resilient. METASTARS project has the ambition to foster this transformation, notably in facilitating new business opportunities towards cross-sectoral domains.”
The European Commission has funded 30 Euroclusters through Europe, answering the needs of the 14 ecosystems designed by Commissioner Thierry Breton. Despite the fact that METASTARS is, so far, the sole project dedicated to the aerospace sector, the partnership will liaise with other Euroclusters addressing cross-sectorial domains.
