Key participation of GSSC partnership on Czech-Cape forum

Nanoprogress participated in the Online "Forum for Sustainable and Socially Responsible Investment and Trade between the Cape Verde Islands and the Czech Republic“organized by the Czech-Cape Verdean Chamber of Commerce under the patronage of the Ministery of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic on 20th May 2021.
The main objective of the event was to deepen relations between countries on several levels (diplomatic, economic, etc.), which was supported by the participation of leading representatives from the private and public spheres.
The introductory remarks were provided by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry, Trade and Transport of the Czech Republic Karel Havlíček and his counterpart the Deputy Prime minister of Cape Verde and Minister of Finance Olavo Correia.
The forum itself was divided into two panels. The first panel was devoted to agriculture and healthcare. The introductory speech in the field of agriculture was given by the Cape Verdean Minister of Agriculture Gilberto Silva and the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Czech Republic Jiří Šír. This was followed by presentations about the water condensator, usage of nanotechnology in agriculture, hospital construction in Cape Verde, and production of vitamins and nutritional supplements. The discussion about healthcare was followed by a short coffee break.
The second panel of the forum was opened by introductory remarks of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Martin Tlapa and the Ambassador of Cape Verde in Brussels José Filomeno Monteiro. The second panel was devoted to 4 topics – sustainable investments in Cape Verde, nanotechnology, tourism and institutional partnership.
After a general discussion, the whole event was summarized by its host Mónica Sofia in her closing session and the event was officially ended after concluded remarks of the President of the Czech-Cape Verdean Chamber of Commerce Kamil Bahbouh.
This Forum was an important step for future collaboration of whole GSSC partnership with Cape Verdean institutions. New contacts will be developed in future GSSC activities.
