The exploratory mission in Santiago the Chile

The GSSC exploratory mission to Chile has officially started on 24.10.2022 in the morning! We met with the representative of ACCIÓ Ms. Felisa Villaseñor and Ms. Thais Pascual in their office. They introduced the Chilian market to us. Then Mrs. Carmen Gloria Fueñas, Latam Manager presented the EURACAT activities and possibilities of collaboration. GSSC consortium is looking forward to having the next meetings in the afternoon. The GSSC consortium had really productive afternoon during the first day in Santiago. At first we visited CORFO, which is the public promotion coorporation. We were welcomed by Rosa Tamayo. The interesting presentations showed us the innovative and sustainable solutions and strategies for smart city. Then we visited the Fundaciòn Chile where Mrs Marina Hermosilla, the sustainability manager, presented their main activities in the field of transformation of Chile towards sustainable development.
On Tuesday the second day of exploratory mission in Santiago de Chile was full of very interesting meetings. The first was held by Mr. Fernando Venegas from Red de Gestores technológicos (RedGT). RedGT is a non-profit corporation that develops proposals and action aimed at favoring the transfer of national technologies, from universities or public-private organisations that generate R&D, to the productive sector. The next meeting was with Invest Chile, where we were welcomed by Mr. Juan Pablo Garnica and Christoff Janse Van Vuuren. Invest Chile is public organisations that promotes Chile as a destination for foreign direct investment in the global market. In the afternoon we met with the Open Beauchef, the innovation and enterpreneurship center of the Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of the University of Chile. The executive director Mr. Alejandro Pantoja introduced the ecosystem. Then we were divided into four sectors according our cluster specialisation and we had the opportutity to discuss our activities with local experts and researches. The last meeting on Tuesday was with Low carbon business action, an EU-funded Doing business platform represeted by Dr. Paul Kritikian, Ms. Verónica Moreira and Mr. Isnardo Lopez. The GSSC consortium sees the opportunity for future collaboration.
