CTA, CENTA and CEIMAR present instruments for entrepreneurship and Blue Economy boost to researchers

Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), the Center of New Water Technologies Foundation (CENTA) and the International Campus of Excellence in Marine Science (CEIMAR) have organised an online event to present instruments for entrepreneurship and Blue Economy boost to researchers.

This event was framed under the mentoring programme of the EMPORIAK4T European project, in which 12 Spanish researchers receive support to design trading routes and to transfer early technologies from the Blue Sector to the market.

The implicated technologies include the generation of marine wind energy, making use of the low offshore winds; the use seaweed biomass; and the recognition of toxic tides to optimise mussel production.

The EMPORIA4KT project is funded by the Interreg Atlantic programme with the objective of promoting transfer of knowledge between University-Government- Industry to boost the European Blue Economy. Andalusia participates in this ambitious project through CTA, CENTA and CEIMAR, with other 10 European organisations. 

Entrepreneurship instruments for researchers: INTECMED Project

The innovation consultant from CTA, María García, has presented the European project INTECMED, where CTA is partner. The main objective of this Project is to accelerate business innovation and transfer of knowledge between research centres and the industry.

Funded by the European programme ENI CBC MED, INTECMED will launch an open call at the end of this year to mentor 12 business projects from Andalusian researchers, who will benefit from an incubation programme.

Aditionally, the consultant and representative in Spain for the Atlantic Action Plan, Marta Pascual, shared some strategies to boost the Blue Economy in the region.
