The Basque Energy Cluster shares internationalisation activities in the energy sector within Intergune+

The Basque Energy Cluster hosted an Energy Workshop, in collaboration with BT&I (Basque Trade & Investment), focusing on the internationalisation of innovative energy sector SMEs within the Intergune+ framework. The Basque Internationalisation Forum was held at the BEC on 6 and 7 May, and became a meeting point showcasing services, financing and aid resources available to Basque companies for their internationalisation processes, and promoting meetings with representatives of the Exterior Network of the Basque Internationalisation Agency.

During the INTERGUNE+ 2019 conference programme, the Basque Energy Cluster held an Energy Workshop, in collaboration with BT&I (Basque Trade & Investment), focusing on the Internationalisation of innovative SMEs in the energy sector. It developed a brief presentation of the sector and its international nature, which was followed by a discussion panel in which SMEs were the true stars.Masermic explained their solar power experience in the Chinese market; Saitec described the challenges they've faced in markets such as Japan and USA to enter the offshore wind market; and Euskabea pointed out the difficulties they had to cope with to complete their internationalisation process in Colombia.

The Basque Energy Cluster actively participated in the exhibition area thanks to a stand in which they held meetings with companies and agents from the Basque energy sector. There, they informed the attending companies of the international work of the Cluster, while sharing the countries of interest where they will be holding commercial missions in a few months, as well as presenting catalogues from the main “Basque Country” brands: Smart Grids Basque CountryOil&Gas Basque IndustryWind Energy Basque CountryOffshore Wind Basque CountryCSP Basque Country and Wave Energy Basque Country.

On the other hand, it also held 14 meetings with people from the External Network from the Basque Internationalisation Agency, with the goal of maintaining a seamless relationship with these agents and gain updated information on the energy sector in countries of interest for the members of the Basque Energy Cluster, with a special focus on the cluster’s strategic areas.
