Submitted by Carolina Turcato on 20 April 2020

Clusaga, the Galician Food Clusters (Cluster Alimentario de Galicia) in collaboration with the Xunta de Galicia and other clusters and associations, has participated in two grouped purchases of personal protection equipment, facilitating the supply of a total of 125,900 masks to companies and freelancers based in the sector and in the Galician community. This guarantees the protection of workers and food security.

These two grouped purchases were managed by Xunta de Galicia, the decision-making body of the government of the autonomous community of Galicia, after meetings between the Galician clusters and the Minister of Economy, Employment and Industry. The new masks should meet the demands of the clusters and companies for which production was severley hampered since the state of alarm was decreed in Spain.
