In Slovakia, the members of Košice IT Valley Cluster together with representatives of other companies in the east of Slovakia have established the initiative “IT pomáha” (IT helps) which aims at helping local health and social care facilities to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

The financial help collected will be used to purchase the necessary protection material with the following priority:

1. For the hospitals in Košice city and surrounding region;
2. For emergency medical services;
3. For socially disadvantaged groups.

In parallel, the "pomoz nemocnici" (Help the hospital) project aims to find home 3D printers that can be used to print protective shields for hospital facilities in eastern Slovakia. It is operated in cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Technical University of Košice.
