Victor Ferreira is a Full Professor at the Civil Engineering Department of the Aveiro University in Portugal. With a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering is responsible for the construction materials and sustainability area. Main R&D and cooperation activities have been centered in materials development, recycling and waste valorization also in cooperation with the industry.
He is also the founder and President of the Portuguese Sustainable Habitat Cluster since 2007. This Cluster in Portugal gathers more than 150 members in a network of companies, R&D centers, industrial associations, municipalities and other public and private agents of the Habitat value chain, aiming to promote Innovation and Competitiveness using Sustainability as the driving force.
The Sustainable Habitat Cluster, recognized by the Portuguese government, is a broad cluster since it covers the Habitat value chain which involves multiple sectors from the extractive to the different building materials ones, as well as construction and real estate sectors and others involving goods and equipment for buildings, cities and infrastructures.
