Reanne Leuning has loved the arts and everything creative since her earliest childhood. Her mother is an artist and was the first to introduce her to the world of visual arts, literature and classical music. Soon, she started to arrange her life around these passions. She studied German Language and Literature and Communication and Information Studies at Groningen University in the Netherlands, and started her professional life in the cultural departments of the Dutch Embassies in Athens, Greece and Vienna, Austria.
After that, she worked at the European Commission in Brussels, for Philips Speech Recognition Systems and as an editor at the Austrian press agency Pressetext. She has been involved in many art projects in the context of her work for ART&IDEA, such as Vienna Art Week, "Flow - Festival of Conversation for Culture and Science" as well as various exhibitions and book projects. Since 2008 she has been working at the Office for Creative Industries at ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA, the Austrian trade promotion and innovation agency with more than 100 offices in 70 countries; since 2013, she has been heading this department.
Through consulting, financial support and the organisation of exhibitions, showcases and B2B matchmaking events as well as conferences and economic missions, the main aim is to generate more international business opportunities for Austrian designers and manufacturers, the music industry, fashion labels, filmmakers and other entrepreneurs from the creative industries.View all members
