The World Freezone Convention is a world-wide convention in which people involved in a wide variety of “Free Zones” (development areas)  from all over the world participate. The New Frontiers in Food project was presented as part of the presentation of Jeroen Wouters, Director International Food Valley NL. The New Frontiers in Food project was highlighted with its emphasis on stimulating the internationalisation of SMEs from Europe. With an attendance from all over the world, also including the New Frontiers in Food target countries, the connection was made with various development areas and free zones. The role for clusters in the development of eco-systems was appreciated, which it specific role in supporting further high tech and innovation activities. The role for SMEs in this respect was also noted to stimulate fast development, especially in the area of agro and food. New contacts have been established and further steps in defining the type of collaboration are underway. The meeting allowed good networking moments. A site visits was made to the Asparzone development area in Doha, Qatar, with specific attention to development of sports and health.
