Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster (LE2C), Politecnico di Milano DICA (Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering), CNR-IRSA (National Reasearch Council - Water Research Institute), Università degli Studi di Milano Bicocca DISAT (Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences) and Lariana Depur organize the conference "Micropollutants and emerging contaminants: testimonies, solutions and perspectives".

A group of research institutions: Politecnico di Milano DICA, National Research Council IRSA, University of Milan Bicocca DISAT together with Lariana Depur, as part of the activities promoted by Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster (LE2C) through the thematic group "Water Energy Nexus", intendig to promote a reflection on emerging micropollutants and contaminants(EMPs) in order to analyse risk, presence and evolution in natural waters, the role of institutions, standards and their evolution at regional (Lombardy), national and European level have promoted this conference more than four years after the first workshop organized by the Politecnico di Milano in February 2014 (http://www.dica.polimi.it/mie).

The conference also focuses on EMPs in the municipal and industrial field, conventional removal techniques and the most advanced techniques, also considering examples of national and international applications, including the experience of Switzerland, which has launched a national strategy to contain these pollutants.

The conference is divided into three scientific and technological sessions, with a closing session with the main stakeholders (institutions, water service managers, industrial sectors, ...), with the aim of developing a discussion on current scientific issues, regulatory perspectives and the elaboration of proposals and future plans of action.
