The EU-Canada Cluster Matchmaking Event sought to support cluster cooperation for strategic business partnerships taking advantage of the provisions of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) signed between the European Union and Canada in October 2016. The event was supported by the European Commission, Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), and the Canadian Innovation, Science and Economic Development Ministry.

This event was very fruitful for PIMAP Partnership project members and offered great visits into the Canadian innovation ecosystem members and received a lot of valuable information how innovation activities are done in Canada and finally a lot of new connections in different business fields. The PIMAP project was presented by the project coordinator Hervé Floch ALPHA-RLH at the EU-Canada Matchmaking Event. Consortium members had the opportunity to meet with potential partners from Canada, such as NGEN, Photons Canada and Humber.
