GALACTICA launches a series of 10 webinars about cross-sectoral innovation in Aerospace, Textiles and Advanced Manufacturing sectors

GALACTICA announced today the registration opening for the first webinars which will showcase both technical and business oriented discussions involving the textile, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors. GALACTICA aims to demonstrate the viability of new industrial value chains around textile and aerospace sectors based on advanced manufacturing across EU.  This series of weekly webinars will start on February 18th 2021 and are aimed at seeding synergies across the different sectors involved in GALACTICA in views of the first call for proposals which will be launched in March 2021 with a budget of 1.2 M€ to support European SMEs.

GALACTICA webinars to seed cross-fertilization

GALACTICA is organizing a series of 10 webinars with a variety of topics, both technical and focused on open innovation, for seeding cross-fertilization opportunities within the textile, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

All webinars will be interactive with a dedicated section for questions to the panelists, each webinar will also be recorded and made available on the GALACTICA project website.  

Each webinar will host keynote speakers either innovation experts  or technical experts from the textile, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing sector.

Save the date for 1st GALACTICA Matchmaking: March 24th!

The first virtual matchmaking is scheduled for March 24th where GALACTICA will present the first call for proposals with 1.2 M€ available for selected SMEs. Companies will be able to participate to B2B meetings and identify potential partners to apply for GALACTICA funding under Pioneer Acceleration and Orbital projects.

GALACTICA Hackathon update

Last week, the registrations for the first GALACTICA hackathon were closed. We have received registrations from thirty-nine teams and thirty-eight individuals coming from 15 EU countries.

In total, around 50 teams will compete in the hackathon from February 9th to February 25th, 2021 for the first stage of the competition. The top 10 teams will be invited to the second-round  on March 18th and 19th.

At the end of the hackathon, an award ceremony will is planed with the announcement of the winning teams.  SME/Start-up category prizes are 25k€ for the winner and 10k€ for the runner-up, whereas student team prizes are 10k€ for the winner and 5k€ for the runner-up.

Advanced Technologies for Textiles and Aerospace sectors: First steps to address digitalization and applicable technologies examples.

Digital Transformation should be seen as essential to keep industrial companies competitive, promote new business models, and drive new value chains.This webinar will explore the tools and methodologies that should be used to drive, in the best way, the digital evolution towards industry 4.0. Successful use cases of 4.0 emergent technologies adoption with business impact in textile and aerospace industries will be presented.

Overview of Technologies in Textiles, Aerospace and Industry 4.0

Textile Engineering, Aeronautic Engineering, and Industrial Engineering experts from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in Terrassa, Spain will make a short overview of the different technologies in industry 4.0, textile use for aerospace application and major trends in aerospace and aeronautics in terms of materials and innovation.

The session will also include a Q&A session to facilitate interactions and standup questions.

2nd March 2021. Business Plan Development Guide for Startups

During the webinar, the main sections of a business plan, the common business plan guidelines and tools, the development process, and the purposes of each, will be described. The aim is to help in developing a business plan that will meet entrepreneurs’ goals, think through all the parts of their business and plan how everything will work efficiently and effectively.
