FoodNet project has been launched

The 2-year project FoodNet "Food in Eco Network – internationalization and global competitiveness of European SMEs in Food and Eco Logistics Sector" funded within COSME programme has been officially launched on 24th January 2018 with the kick-off meeting in Łodz, Poland.

The project team met face-to-face to discuss about project ambition, objectives and its coordinated implementation, with tasks and assignments for the following months.

The project aims at improving the potential of European food market clusters by making business and logistics processes more sustainable. The project will address current needs in the area of cooperation and improving green behaviour in supply chain of food clusters and other industry clusters. The main objective of the proposed action is to establish and sustain after the end of actions planned in this project a Food In Eco Network (FoodNet), an EU wide meta-cluster as a long term European Strategic Cluster Partnership-Going International (ESCP-4i) supporting clusters and business network organisations, their SMEs and other cluster members collaborating for innovation, market-uptake, and marketing of competitive products, services and technologies in the field of food and eco-logistics and support SMEs in global competition. The project is dedicated to SMEs, especially in the following sectors: the food sector (fresh, bio, eco), the logistics sector, the ICT sector, and the energy sector, cooperating/associated within clusters, regional authorities, and sectoral organisations (e.g.: food producer groups, clusters, business environment institutions).
