The €20 million European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Blue Economy window call 2020 is now open.

The call supports the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in the blue economy across the European Union.

Organisations can get up to 70% co-funding for their projects and any for-profit SME based in the European Union (EU) can apply either as a single participant or a member of a consortium. The deadline for applications is 16 February 2021.

The call provides a real opportunity for novel solutions that will take Europe towards a more resilient and climate-neutral economy, with specific aims to:

• Bring to market new products, services, processes, and business models in blue economy value chains and help advance their market-readiness
• Develop a sustainable and innovative blue economy in Europe's sea basins
• Facilitate beneficiaries' access to other financing schemes for the next stages of their activities
