Networking with Canadian high-tech cluster and innovative start-up in Dresden

The Canadian Embassy in Berlin asked for a delegation visit to Saxony's most successful high-tech network Silicon Saxony on 25th June. After the connections to Canada that have already been established in recent years, this was a welcome opportunity to meet new exciting players from North America. The Canadian delegation members were currently visiting Saxony during the Graphene conference in Dresden (June 26 to 29 at the International Congress Center Dresden). During their visit to the premises of Silicon Saxony e. V. and the Silicon Saxony Management GmbH, the network and company representatives exchanged views on the locations of Saxony and Canada, possible cooperations and the business trip planned for autumn with Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs Martin Dulig.

Led by a high-ranking representative of the Canadian Embassy, ​​representatives of the Canadian NanoCanada Cluster and the innovative Canadian start-up ORA Sound visited the office of Silicon Saxony e on June 25. V. and the Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed). Here, the Saxon and Canadian participants networked, informed themselves about central settlement, financing and technology issues of both regions. Especially the possibilities and services of the cluster Silicon Saxony were of special interest.

ORA Sound was involved with the NanoCanada Cluster and around a dozen other Canadian participants in the 8th edition of Europe's largest graphene conference, the Graphene Conference (further conferences in Dresden), in Dresden. The representatives of the Canadian embassy and the NanoCanada cluster, in turn, learned about North American companies already active in the network, such as: For example, the PEER Group from Canada, and the business trip to Saxony's Minister of Economic Affairs, Martin Dulig, planned from 9 to 15 September. Companies and institutions interested in North America or Canada will travel to the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.

Also in the future, Silicon Saxony plans to intensify its close connections with North America. The contacts that have now been established, both with the Canadian Embassy, ​​the Canadian high-tech cluster and innovative companies such as ORA Sound, are intended in the long term for the members of Silicon Saxony e. V. benefit.
