Meet innovative Japanese companies in biotechnology and life sciences

Submitted by Imogen Allan on 29 January 2021

A new portal promotes innovative Japanese biotechnology and life sciences companies and invites European companies to express their interest in online meetings.

The 41 Japanese companies on the site are innovative ventures located in incubation facilities managed by the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, JAPAN (SME SUPPORT JAPAN).

Most of the companies are looking for partners for joint research and development in areas such as drug discovery, regenerative medicine, cell and gene therapy, digital health, medical devices and tools, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, animal health and industrial biotechnology.

Meetings will be scheduled in two sessions:

  • Session 1: 15-19 February (for expressions of interest until Thursday 4 February)
  • Session 2: 15-19 March (for expressions of interest until Thursday 4 March)

Interested European companies can specify companies that they are interested in meeting with, as well as their available days and preferred tools for online meetings. All arrangements for the 40-minute meetings, including interpreting, will be made by SME Support Japan.

The event is co-organised by SME SUPPORT JAPAN and the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation, the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) contact point in Japan.
