Jean-Luc Ansel, President of France Clusters since 2010, CEO and founder of the cluster Cosmetic Valley, was decorated with the Legion of Honour by the President of the Senate, Gérard Larcher on March 7, 2017.

This honorific distinction rewards the impact of competitiveness clusters on the French economy and the role of France Clusters for fostering it.   Engineer by training at the Wood’s Superior School, Jean-Luc Ansel founded in 1994 the competitiveness cluster Cosmetic Valley, under the presidency of Jean Paul Guerlain. He is now leading this internationally-recognized cluster on strategic development and animation missions.  Jean-Luc Ansel has a strong experience of 15 years in the wood-related-industry, working for companies such as Aussedat-Rey, Olma Est, Parisot Senonches, Steelcase-Strafor. He also acquired relevant skills in the field of territorial development, by assuming the position of Director of the Economic Development Committee of the department of Eure et Loire for 16 years, where he developed networks and territorial clusters. Then, he created several competitiveness clusters: Cosmetic Valley in the field of cosmetics, Pôle Pharma, in the pharmaceutical sector and Perchebois, in the field of wood, in which he still plays an important role as President of the Experts French Wood Company.
