EU-Korea Climate Action: First Call For Proposals Launched !

Submitted by Alina Danieles… on 15 October 2019

The EU-Korea Climate Action Project supports Climate Partnerships between Korean and European non-state entities who commit to implement climate actions in priority areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency in buildings, sustainable mobility, circular economy and best low-carbon business practices. Climate Partnerships bring together actors from the following stakeholder categories: government authorities below the national level, NGOs and CSOs, industry, business intermediaries and businesses, academic and research institutes, and media organisations. Proposed actions are expected to focus mostly on activities or subjects relevant to the Republic of Korea, with the exception of capacity building measures in the form of study tours to EU Member States.

Aiming at stimulating climate action on the ground in the form of Joint Research Projects or Pilot Projects to contribute to Korea’s GHG emissions reduction and climate change adaptation efforts, this first call for proposals launched by the EU-Korea Climate Action Project focuses on Renewable Energy and Energy-Efficient Buildings.

Application started from September 16, 2019 and is open until the available funding envelope is exhausted. Eligible Partners are Climate Partnerships composed of at least one European and one Korean entity from any of the following categories: government authorities at the sub-national level, NGOs and CSOs, business intermediaries, SMEs, research institutes and academia.

A total funding under the call of EUR 300,000, and up to EUR 20,000 funding per project are budgeted.
