In June 2019, Compete Caribbean closed a competition for clusters projects across the region, which received 42 applications. Following a thorough, systematic and difficult evaluation process, as well as a pitch presentation before an independent panel of judges on July 26, 2019, 6 proposals were selected to move on to the next phase of cluster development plan:
