Co-operative entrepreneurship in education: Tools and resources course

Submitted by Imogen Allan on 16 February 2021

YOUCOOPE is a European project that aims to encourage educational institutions to include the cooperative model in their curricula and promote it among young students and entrepreneurs.

The ten institutions that promote this initiative will design innovative training modules including resources, methodologies and tools for educators to integrate co-operative entrepreneurship concepts, skills and real experiences into their classroom. These resources will also encourage them to seek collaboration with existing co-operatives locally, to both gain awareness of and facilitate the school-to-work transition using real experiences.

Using this approach, educators will develop knowledge, skills and understanding related to the co-operative model to encourage the use of co-operative entrepreneurship in the development of innovative projects.

The course

YOUCOOPE’s Co-operative Entrepreneurship in Education: Tools and Resources is a short digital course aimed at teachers and education professionals across the world interested in understanding and/or introducing entrepreneurial education using the co-operative perspective.

The COVID-19 pandemic is having a tremendous impact on our society, our economy and our teaching methods. Co-operatives are proven to be resilient business models that foster high levels of innovation and create stable jobs. With deep links to local communities, they are key actors in contributing to all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in fostering an economy for the common good.

This course is aimed at educators and the general public.
