Submitted by Alina Danieles… on 23 January 2017

We would like to introduce a recent paper inspired by the inputs and discussions taken at the 2nd InFocus thematic workshop “Cluster-based local economic development in the context of RIS3”, Frankfurt, November 23-25, 2016. The author, Miguel Rivas, explored issues related to

  • Clusters and cluster policy as a main delivery tool in smart specialisation strategies
  • Making “related variety” work
  • From clusters of activities to clusters of competences
  • City-making clusters
  • On the role of cities in cluster development
