Waste Management after COVID-19

The COVID-19 has revealed the fragility of the economic ecosystems. Sustainable consumption goes hand in hand  with sustainable environment. Hence, waste management will be one of the important aspects to be dealt with in the aftermath of the COVID-19 crisis.

A very interesting article published in the Journal of Cleaner Production upholds the thesis that waste is actually a matter of packaging, i.e. half of the household waste can be attributed to packaging functions. Therefore, packaging size and display of information are the most important packaging functions and in order to reduce waste, packaging designers should start to explore the existing practices.
