Low Carbon Business Action is an European-funded initiative that aims at engaging Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) from Brazil and from Member States in Europe, promoting the exchange of innovative experiences, supporting companies into their transition to low carbon technologies and resource efficient processes within the Action’s target sub-sectors and related areas, which mostly contribute to the Brazilian emissions of Greenhouse Gases (GHG). The initative aims to:

  • Promote the sustainable transition of SMEs to low carbon technologies and resource-efficient processes
  • Internationalize EU SMEs and support innovation, competitiveness and environment and economic sustainability of local counterparts
  • Support national low carbon emission strategies for tackling climate change
  • Expand emerging companies and create new ones in the low carbon technology sector, including equipment producers and service providers

The initiative concluded its second phase, started at the end of 2017, which involved offering technical and financial support to all the selected projects during the first phase.  The service providers homologated by the Low Carbon Business Action in Brazil provided technical support in order to turn the partnerships into projects able to obtain funding. The support contemplates market viability, economic and financial services; technical viability services; potential impact services (environmental, cost analysis); legal advisory services and financial consultancy and facilitation to deal with financial entities.
