Description

Protecting your patent internationally can be a long and difficult experience.

Many SMEs may even decide not to file a patent application due to its complexity. However, before you give up, you should know that many bilateral and multilateral treaties can help you.

Programs like ASEAN Examination Co-operation (ASPEC) and Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) can help to save you time when applying for a patent.

They provide accelerated patent prosecution procedures by sharing information between patent offices, within South-East Asia but also for patents coming e.g. from Europe, the US or Japan. These programs allow patent offices to benefit from the work previously done by others. This reduces examination workload and improves patent quality.

Join this South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk webinar to learn how to take advantage of these systems and design a great patent strategy!

Speaker: Wai Yeng Chan External Expert, South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk; Head, IP Strategy, Patent Attorney, Taylor Vinters Via LLC.
