Description

The European Commission (EC) organised the EU – Taiwan Matchmaking Event in the context of the global ICT and IoТ show and exhibition Computex 2023 which was held on 30 May – 1 June 2023.

The EU – Taiwan Matchmaking Event itself took place on-site in Taipei, Taiwan on 30 May – 1 June 2023.

The event was jointly organised by the European Commission through the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), in collaboration with the Chinese National Federation of Industries (CNFI), the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BoFT) – Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA).

The EU – Taiwan Matchmaking Event brought together cluster organisations and SMEs from the European Union (EU), non-EU COSME countries, and Taiwan. It will provide participants an excellent chance to promote Cluster to Cluster (C2C), Cluster to Business (C2B), and Business to Business (B2B) collaborations. The event was hold on-site at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre, as a side event of the global ICT and IoT show and exhibition Computex 2023.

Objectives

The objectives for the participants included:

  • Strengthening EU-Taiwan cluster cooperation for the benefit of their members, including through a seminar, a cluster matchmaking event, and visits;
  • Identifying potential areas of common interest for cooperation and synergies, in terms of the sectoral, value chain, and market focus of their SMEs and other companies;
  • Through clusters, improving EU-Taiwan industry and academia-industry collaboration in research, development, and innovation. For its members, the clusters will identify possible areas of RDI collaboration (academia, research organisations, industries...).

Call for Expression of Interest

Calls for Expression of Interest targeted cluster organisations and SMEs from the EU and non-EU COSME countries who wish to participate are now closed.

Format

The EU – Taiwan Matchmaking Event itself took place on-site in Taipei, Taiwan on 30 May – 1 June 2023. Participants were able to schedule their own meetings through the B2Match Platform. Selected European cluster organisations received financial support for travel from the European Commission.
