Market Access DataBase (MADB)
A database developed by DG Trade, European Commission, MADB gives information to companies exporting from EU about import conditions in third country markets, structured as follows:
- Tariffs
- Procedures and formalities
- Statistics on trade flow between EU and non EU countries
- Trade barriers
- Sanitary and Phytosanitary issues
- Rules of Origin
- Services for SMEs – usefull addresses for SMEs in third countries, including links to important platforms supporting SME such as IPR SME Helpdesks, The European Small Business Portal, The European Enterprise Network, etc

Export Helpdesk
The Export Helpdesk provides developing countries with the information they need to fully benefit from the export opportunities provided, focusing on EU tariffs, requirements, preferential arrangements, quotas and statistics relating to imports from trade partner countries
The information is provided by entering the specific code of the product of interest in a search form on the home page (also Harmonised System chapter list available in a link attached) and is structured in:
- specific requirements (e.g. plant health, public health, labelling, etc.)
- internal taxes (VAT and excise duties) applicable in the 28 EU Member States
- relevant laws, national authorities, border inspection posts
