Clusters in the Circular Economy

Submitted by Alina Danieles… on 28 October 2019

"At least 250 green clusters in Europe are daily pushing the green transition forward. Helping companies to access the newest knowledge, testing new green business ideas and developing new green innovations. All of this accelerating, changing and supporting European businesses to be more focused on the way forward for a more sustainable world with better preservation of resources and environment.", says Dr. Ulla Engelmann, Head of Unit Advanced Technologies, Clusters and Social Economy at DG GROW, European Commission in the foreword to the brand-new study produced by Cluster Excellence Denmark.

The study addresses the clusters' role in the circular transition, provides answers to the question on how clusters are powering it and how they are putting circular policy into action. Find out about funding circularity in SMEs through clusters, about concrete examples on how clusters can bridge circular knowledge gaps, how they are related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) and methodologies on how clusters can assist in building green partnerships for a circular transition of their SMEs.
