Executive Summary

InnoSmart aimed to develop emerging and sustainable industries based on creativity that emerge through: Identifying creative new uses and applications for current technology. Expanding the use of innovations and current technology to new sectors and industries where they were not previously used. Identifying applications that lead to a more efficient use of resources.

InnoSmart has supported these three types of entrepreneurial projects and encouraged cross-sectorial international business cooperation.  The action was firmly set within the region's smart specialisation strategy and capitalised on three key transversal drivers of emerging industries: resource efficiency, creativity and cross-cutting technologies and services.

The cross-sectorial fertilisation between different technological sectors has been promoted to function as a catalyst of structural change in the region and facilitate radical innovation.

Expected Results  The cross-fertilisation activities carried out within the project have generated: The transnational exchange of 30 good practices for the development of a roadmap and action plan. Increased cross-sectoral networking of more than 300 transnational stakeholders. Cross-sectoral interaction of 50 groups of “innovation candidates, enterprises and catalysts”. 25 cross-sectoral projects consolidated with increased innovation capacity.
