EU Cluster Partnerships
One concept, three objectives
The European Strategic Cluster Partnerships have been launched by the European Commission through financial incentives (under COSME programme) to encourage clusters from Europe to intensify collaboration across regions and sectors.
These EU cluster partnerships are expected to pool resources and knowledge with a view to work concretely together on joint strategies. The objective is to undertake actions in the common interest of their SME members.
The ultimate goal of this action is to boost economic growth and competitiveness in Europe.
The European Strategic Cluster Partnerships are labelled by the European Commission, DG Growth following specific COSME calls.
The European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Excellence (ESCP-4x) aim to support the development of cluster management excellence and strengthen strategic cross-regional collaboration between industrial clusters across Europe.
Smart Specialisation Investment
The European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Smart Specialisation Investments (ESCP-S3) aim to facilitate cluster cooperation in thematic areas related to regional smart specialisation strategies.
The European Strategic Cluster Partnerships for Going International (ESCP-4i) aim at collaborating on strategies to go international jointly and help European SME access third markets.
