The European Committee of the Regions (CoR) is the voice of regions and cities in the EU. It represents local and regional authorities across the European Union, and advises on new laws that have an impact on regions and cities.
The Committee of the Regions Automotive Intergroup (CoRAI) is an interregional group of members from the European Committee of the Regions which provides the opportunity for discussion, exchanging of views, and sharing of expertise on the ‘future of the automotive industry’, in order to promote cooperation between local and regional authorities.
This Automotive Intergroup, formed of 32 members from 11 Member States, highlights and demonstrates the importance of the automotive and supply industries for different regions. It also reflects on the challenges automotive regions are experiencing during this period of green transformation.
The next meeting of the CoRAI will be held as a virtual conference on 19 May at 10am CET on the topic of climate change. Kerstin Jorna, the Director General of the European Commission in charge of Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, will provide insights into how Europe can meet the challenge of low emission vehicles and low carbon fuels.
Leaders from industry, cluster managers and scientists will give recommendations and insights into the latest developments on e-mobility, hydrogen, hybrid vehicles, and batteries. Decision makers from automotive regions will share their views.
