Overview
About us
The Tuscany Regional Technology Cluster for Energy and Green Economy (DTE²V) is an organization of independent Economic and Research operators coordinated through a public-private governance, that has been established by Tuscany Region in 2016 with the objectives of increasing the competitiveness of Tuscan companies operating within the Energy and Green Economy sectors and promoting industrial research and technology transfer. Current DTE²V consists of around 180 total members, including leading companies in the energy sector operating within the Tuscany Region, MSMEs, Start Ups, Universities, Research Centres, Laboratories, Trade Associations, Technology and Innovation Networks and Non-Profit groups.
The Strategic Operating Plan 2016 - 2019 consists in four main objectives:
- Technology dissemination: Forecast and Foresight Analysis to better understand and predict future developments of markets and technologies within the Energy sector at local, regional, national and international level;
- Business Matching/ Matchmaking (B2B, R2B, F2B): Promotes the matching and connection amongst economic operators with the objectives of fostering technological innovation, adoption of better marketing strategies and to approach new potential markets and business opportunities;
- Creation and enhancement of know-how and professional expertise within each reference sector;
- Promote financing opportunities for the innovation (through Regional or European funding programmes, ESCOs, financial intermediaries, etc.).
The Technology District operates through four specific technical/scientific areas:
- Introduction of the LNG (liquefied natural gas) as a new and sustainable energy carrier;
- Increasing the application of electricity, indirectly decreasing CO2 levels;
- Increasing the energy production from renewable sources (with focus on Geothermal energy, its direct uses and integration with other renewable sources and energy efficiency measures);
- Interconnection of energy systems (electricity grids, electrical and thermal systems, hydraulic and electrical systems).
