Tune in to the State of the Union Address in September
Every September, the President of the European Commission delivers the State of the Union address.
This year Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will deliver the address on 15 September 2021. The State of the Union will set out how the Commission will address key challenges the EU is facing and present ideas for the future.
A plenary debate with members of the European Parliament will follow discussing the following topics: The European Green Deal
A Europe fit for the Digital Age
An economy that works for people
A stronger global Europe
Promoting European way of life partnerships
In particular, the President will show the EU’s commitment to the EU Green Deal and the Digital Strategy, which will form the base of a resilient and modern European economy.
In addition to these topics, the event will discuss the progress the EU has made in fighting the pandemic and helping Europe to overcome the economic crisis.
