The GIMNOTE agreement was signed on December 11, 2018.

System Factory is a cluster positioned on the assembly, experimentation and integration of mature innovative technological bricks from different French industrial sectors such as rail, civil nuclear, automotive, telecommunications, aeronautics, spatial. During the signing of the agreement, the chief weapons engineer Jérôme Perrin, director of DGA Naval Techniques declared: “The next step is to quickly hold the first steering committee and in the wake of entrusting the System Factory the first technological themes on which the Ministry of the Armed Forces, and in particular the Defense Innovation Agency (AID), awaits technological proposals of excellence ”. Captain Nicolas Ciaravola, Director of the CEPN, said: “The Navy is engaged in a process of promoting innovation to meet the constant need to improve its operational superiority. Experimenting with good ideas, whether they come from sailors or manufacturers, evaluating them for possible "scaling up" are common practices in the navy.
