Description of measure

A project under the Korean Green New Deal aims to convert industrial complexes into smart eco-friendly manufacturing spaces with digital-based high productivity (smart) and high energy-efficiency as well as low pollution (eco-friendly). The cluster measure supports the following goals: 1) establishment of a simulation center for manufacturing process testing and remote monitoring system for leaks and leaks of hazardous chemicals based on artificial intelligence and drones, 2) building a smart energy platform that monitors and controls energy generation consumption in real time, 3) establishment of smart eco-factory and clean factory, 4) support for inter-company waste recycling linkage, 5) support for installation of fine dust reduction facilities in small businesses. In 2019-2022, 10 industrial complexes are selected under this measure. Budget: Total project costs of 2.1 trillion won (EUR 15.5 million) by 2022 and 4 trillion won (EUR 30 million) by 2025, creating 33,000 jobs. This measure does not directly target clusters but has the potential to facilitate their set-up and development.
